A bank in Stockholm

Unique co-operation

While working on the bank’s new office in Lindhagensgatan, Stockholm, Martela co-operated closely with the interior designers of Strategisk Arkitektur and the retailer Lindelöf to take the word ‘customized’ one step further. We used this opportunity to implement our Lifecycle model on a larger scale, making it possible for the building to gain the highest possible Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating – LEED Platinum.

The Bank’s office in Lindhagen has attracted attention, partly because of the new ways of collaboration used in the project. The building was designed by Strategisk Arkitektur and when the bank decided to move into the premises, they contracted them for the interior design as well. In addition to providing the furniture, Martela acted as the coordinator for the project. ”We have been in close contact with the bank, acting as their single point of contact. Thanks to the co-operation with architects and suppliers, we have been able to deliver an extremely customized turnkey solution in a timely and efficient manner”, says Vidar Hellsaeus, Key Account Manager from Martela.

The bank wished to reuse or recycle as much as possible of their office interior and Martela was naturally able to provide a solution for this. As many adjustable-height table bases as possible were reused from the previous premises and fitted with new tabletops that suited the design of the new premises. Roughly a thousand tables were renovated and adapted for use in various bank's offices. Furniture that could not be reused was resold through Martela Outlet. Nothing went to waste, just as the client wished. Martela also provided all the meeting area furniture designed for activity-based work, such as Movie, Koop, PodSeat and PodSofa.

”I think we managed to create just what we were looking for – a comfortable and pleasant environment where all parts work well together”, says Ann-Charlotte Berg from Strategisk Arkitektur.
