Warsaw, Poland
Architects:  Ilmari Lahdelma & Rainer Mahlamäki

The initiative of creation of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews came from the Polish Association of the Jewish Historical Institute and the investors are Capital City of Warsaw and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland. The mission of the Warsaw located Jewish Historical Institute is to spread knowledge about the heritage of the thousand years of Jewish presence on the Polish lands.

Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects Studio, which has extensive experience in implementation of similar objects, was charged with tasks of concept, design and supervision. The building is full of metaphors and references such as a crack between two walls in the main hall refers to the parting of the Red Sea.

The decision to entrust Martela with supplying full range of both office and meeting furniture and fixtures was made on the basis of a public tender. The subject was the implementation of a comprehensive supply of furniture which consists of offices, counters, locker rooms, dressing rooms, lobby, meeting and conference rooms. The project was completed on the basis of furniture and interior solutions supplied by Martela , based on it's own and it's partners' (Offecct, Wilkhahn, Pedrali and DVO) furniture collections.
