Martela's year 2024 was extremely challenging due to the unfavorable market conditions in the industry. Revenue decreased by 8 percent to EUR 86.7 million, and the operating result was a loss of EUR 6.5 million. Towards the end of the year, market demand showed slight signs of improvement after a very quiet start to the year. The company adjusted its cost levels and made structural changes, achieving its planned savings targets in the second half of the year; however, due to the weak market environment, these structural changes were not sufficient to turn the second half's result into a profit. CEO Ville Taipale commented: "The year was significantly more challenging than expected, but our investment in business development and the positive feedback received from customers creates confidence for the future. The work for better work environments continues." After a busy year, the company extends gratitude to its customers and personnel, and sees positive signs for the future.
