Flexible, modern spaces of the new location support both well-being and business
Orkla Suomi’s Turku office moved from the logistics centre to the heart of the city. Nearly 600 square meters premises located on Yliopistonkatu was renovated before the move. The goal was to create a work environment that better meets the needs of the personnel and represents Orkla Suomi’s business.
Martela was responsible for the interior design of the space, as well as delivery and installation of furniture. Spatial design included selection of surface materials and colours, loose furniture, and interior elements. The planning was done in active dialogue with the property’s leasing company, resulting in renovation guidelines that took Orkla Suomi’s wishes into account.
Comfortable activity-based office delights
In the previous office, personnel mainly worked in their own rooms. Move enabled a transition to a flexible activity-based office model that serves not only individual work but also meetings and interactions. Personnel has enthusiastically embraced the new work environment, describing the spaces as cosy and delightfully beautiful. A functional and pleasant office environment was created through professional design, close collaboration, committed personnel, and Martela’s versatile design services.
The pastel and earthy colour scheme of the spaces stylishly incorporates the personality of Orkla Finland’s renowned brands. Felix-themed meeting room delights with its deliciously red Noora sofa and &Tradition’s Flowerpot lamp. Surrounded by shades of red is the height-adjustable, black-stained ash Frankie conference table.
Round-cornered Face table screens bring calmness and a soft look to workstations. Pleasant working cafe area invites colleagues to gather around Alku tables for a relaxing break or to work in an inspiring and interactive environment with comfortable Ella chairs.
High-quality furniture and anticipation of changing needs are part of a responsible work environment. Furniture for the meeting areas was acquired through Martela’s flexible rental service model, which allows for keeping the work environment up-to-date and optimised as needed. Interior design also took into account existing artworks that were to be part of the new office. Beautifully placed paintings, installed by Martela, create a unique, personal look in the spaces.
“Collaboration with Martela’s interior designers was smooth and clear. Our wishes were listened to, and as result functional, adaptable, and well-being-supporting space solutions were created for our new premises. Project was in capable and reliable hands, and solutions were always found for the challenges,” says Nina Olin, HR and Communications Director of Orkla Finland.
